A Message from Mayor Soglin

7/15/2016

I am proud to say that Madison has a strong tradition of neighborhood activism, with leaders playing a critical role in shaping the future of our city. I am inviting you to attend the citywide Neighborhood Conference that is scheduled for Saturday, October 8th, at Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center.

This year marks the 20th anniversary in which our neighborhood associations, the business community, faith-based and non-profits, and city officials and staff have come together to share information, best practices, and even brainstorm about new ideas to help improve their communities. The Westside has a rich history of community involvement. Sharing your successes with peers from around the city is one of the greatest values of the neighborhood conference, as is the opportunity to build relationships with other neighborhood leaders from across the city.

I would like to extend a special thank you to all of you who already volunteer your time to improving your neighborhood and the lives of your neighbors. I am looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming Neighborhood Conference. Let’s plan together how we can make a better community for all. Registration for the neighborhood conference will be opened later this summer at www.cityofmadison.com/neighborhoodconference.

Stay well!
Paul R. Soglin
